Did regular husbands pump iron and workout regularly in the 1940s and 1950s?

Like were most dads all buff and were most moms toned and did they ever show cleavage or get plastic surgery?

Or was there even plastic surgery back then?

No, at no time of which I am aware did regular husbands, or even single guys, customarily follow any exercise regime, nor was a significant portion of the population buff due to these activities; in fact guys then behaved pretty much like guys now.

Some moms exercised and were toned and some had cleavage and I am sure some did show it. Go to the library, if not available on line, and look at old magazines, etc., but pretty much moms were like moms now.

Plastic surgery developed after WWI and really came into its own following WWII in response to some of the disfiguring injuries suffered by servicemen. It started being available to the general public as cosmetic surgery in the 50s, mostly to improve faces; like noses and chins and sticky out ears and progressed from there to mammoplasties (boob jobs), face lifts, etc.
